Program Description
Metabolic syndrome refers to the clustering of cardiovascular disease risk factors such as hypertension, impaired glucose tolerance, dyslipidemia and obesity. Individuals with this syndrome have an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Addressing modifiable risk factors such as physical inactivity, eating habits and stress can reduce many of the negative effects associated with this syndrome. This program utilizes evidence-based research to decrease these risk factors. Enrollment for this program requires a physician’s referral.

Exercise:
14 Week Program
A minimum of 2 individual sessions each week with an exercise physiologist for 12 weeks
2 weeks of independent exercise to practice learned skills
Educational presentations and handouts
Option to add a gym pass for personal use
Nutrition:
Supplied meals (10 meals) for first week of the program with option to add additional meals
Healthy cooking demonstration
